ZooLights at the National Zoo: A free event, ZooLights includes live music performances, tasty winter treats and plenty of opportunities for holiday shopping. More than 500,000 environmentally-friendly LED lights transform the Zoo into a winter wonderland complete with a dazzling light show set to music. Washington DC New Year's Eve Passport to the World Gala: World Gala is held at the Embassy Suites Hotel and includes activities in rooms based on specific cities—such as honoring "The City of Love" by speed dating in the Paris room or dance the night away in a club atmosphere in the Ibiza room. New Year's Eve 2018 Celebrity Masquerade Ball: Now in its fifth year, this gala is held at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill.
